Codex Supplement: Death Guard, p. 3

In order to use this supplement, you will require a copy of Codex: Chaos Space Marine, which contains all of the core units involved in making a Death Guard army.

Keywords

All units have the <Legion> keyword. This is replaced with Death Guard Keyword.

Units with the Death Guard keyword gain access to the rules located within this Codex Supplement.

Your Allegiance is now considered to be Death Guard.

Mustering an Army

You will build an army according to the Battlepack you and your opponent agree to play with. By default, the Crusade battle pack is the safest bet for most games.

Restrictions

If your army has the Allegiance: Death Guard, your army has the following restrictions:

  • You must use the Nurgle Discipline from the core Codex: Chaos Space Marines.
  • You must use the Rites of War presented in this Supplement instead of those presented in the Core Codex.
  • You must use the Warlord traits presented in this Supplement instead of those presented in the Core Codex.
  • You may not field the units not listed on the Death Guard Unit list in this Codex Supplement.
  • You may not use the Relic wargear in Codex Chaos Space Marines and may only purchase Relic wargear from this supplement.

Armoury of the 14th Legion

Units with Allegiance: Death Guard have access to additional wargear presented in this supplement in addition to the war gear presented in the core Codex Chaos Space Marines.

Chaos Lord Upgrades

A Death Guard Chaos Lord may purchase the following upgrade in addition to the others available:

Chaos Champion Upgrades

A Death Guard Chaos Champion may purchase the following upgrades in addition to the others available:

Weapons

Any Death Guard model may exchange their equipped close combat weapon for a Plague Knife for 0pts.

Any Death Guard Chaos Lord or Chaos Champion may:

Any Death Guard model may exchange their equipped Frag Grenades for Blight Grenades for 0pts.
