The Hykanatoi
The General caste of warriors within the Adeptus Custodes and forming the primary battle formations generally seen are the Hykanatoi. These include the mainline Custodian Guard, Sentinel Guard and even the most elite of warriors among the Custodes, the much-revered Heteron Guard who stand as the pinnacle of martial excellence even among these demigods of man. They are the executioners and the shield all the same and deployed in formation as the main force of the Custodes. However, the Hykanatoi are not a well-rounded force configured to deal with specialised forms of warfare such as mobile cavalry warfare or siege and attrition combat. As such, they are often ill-equipped to handle such battles. The Hykanatoi are often supported by the Sisters of Silence who work in tandem with their forces.
Restrictions
- Your Army must include 2 units of
Custodian Guard . - Your Warlord must be a
Shield Captain . - Your Shield Captain may not be equipped with a Dawn Eagle Jetbike or Allarus Terminator Armour.
- For every
Custodes unit in your army, you must include 1Sisters of Silence unit.
Benefits
- You may select a second unit in your Army to be a Warlord that does not have the
Custodes Keyword. Both units are considered to be your Warlord. The chosen second unit may generate a Warlord trait. - One unit of
Custodian Guard in your army may be upgraded to be Heteron Guard for 10pts per model (see below). Custodian Guard &Shield Captain units in your army may exchange their Guardian Spears for:- An Adrasite Spear for 10pts (see below).
- A Pyrithite Spear for 15pts (see below).
