Battle Smith (X)

In the Shooting Phase, a model with this special rule may forfeit its Shooting Attack to attempt perform a Machine Rite. The Machine Rites available to a unit are listed in their relevant Codex. The value of (x) is the number of Machine Rites a unit may attempt to perform each phase. To perform a Machine Rite, the unit performing it must make a Leadership Test. If the roll is equal to or lower than the units Leadership (LD) characteristic, the test is passed, and the Machine Rite is successfully performed. If the roll is greater than the units Leadership (LD) characteristic, the test is failed, and Rite is not performed. If a unit with more than 1 model with this special rule wishes to perform a Rite, only 1 model in the unit must forfeit its Shooting Attack. A unit with the Firing Protocols (x) special rule, can forfeit one of its Shooting Attacks to perform any number of Machine Rites equal to the value of Battle Smith (x). A unit cannot perform the same Rite more than once per Phase unless otherwise stated.
