War Games Battle Pack, p. 3
A Competitive game uses points to balance the size. Armies cannot contain more points than specified. Players should agree beforehand on a game size, whose points correspond below:

| Small | 1,000 per player |
| Average | 1,500 per player |
| Large | 2,000 per player |
1,500 points is recommended for competitive games which allow customization but requires careful tool selection. This points level is the true threshold for testing how well you can play the game and build lists. 2,000 points is ideal for those wishing to go all out with plenty of options in a large-scale game.
Lords of War
Players may only include Lords of War in Large sized games (2,000pts and above).
