Airborne Assault
The Blood Angels doctrine typically revolves around fast, blitzkrieg style assault which are spearheaded by a detachment of airborne marines. The goal of these initial shock troops is to use aircraft and airborne fire support to rapidly engage foes, dropping into their ranks from gunships to sow havoc and chaos in their wake before the main body of the advancing Space Marine force arrives to help them finish the thrust. The Blood Angels are well practiced at these rapid air assaults and often pair them in conjunction with Drop Pod Assaults during planetary invasion campaigns. The Airborne Assault may force slower moving elements to join them at a slower pace but the mobility granted by this formation allows the angels to sweep in on wings of fire, lay waste to an area before rapidly redeploying to repeat the process again.
