The Ritual

Shadow War Battle Pack, p. 9

"As much as some enemies will engage in suspicious activity, the nature of many is that they are passed off as a ritual. Whether it be a ritual to bring for a daemon, repair damaged equipment or inspire their troops, the fact remains the same. Any advantage must be denied the enemy. Thus both sides often seek to disrupt such rituals when intelligence pinpoints them. The ritualists often deploy in force to defend these often crucial activities as a result, always prepared for the possibility of a sneak attack especially near the front lines."

Determine which player will be the Attacker and which player will be the Defenders.

The Attacker seeks to disrupt the ritual. The Attacker deploys second.

The Defender conducts the ritual (whatever it may be). The Defender deploys first.

Victory Conditions

Scattered across the area are pillars of the ritual. These pillars are represented by objective markers. These pillars will vary by the ritual and are figurative. A pillar may be an arcane rune, a vid feed recorder, a broadcasting device, repair tools, etc. control of these locations around the ritual are key to completing the ritual.

The Attacker wins if they control 4 pillar sites for the ritual at the end of the game. The Defender wins if they control 4 pillar sites for the ritual at the end of the game.

If neither side controls at least 4 Pillar sites at the end of the game, the player that controls the most sites at the end of the game is the winner.
