Combat Orders

Codex: Imperial Guard, p. 7

At the beginning of each Battle Round, an Imperial Guard army generates 1 Command Point (CP) plus a number of Command Points (CP) equal to the total value of (X) from all units in your army with the Officer special rule. This includes units which are not on the battlefield, either in reserves or in Transports. These command points may be spent at various times during either player turn. At the end the battle round, any unspent Command Points are lost.

To issue an order, you must select 1 unit with the Character special rule in your army to issue an order. You must then select 1 unit wholly within 18" of the Character capable of receiving that Order. Each time a character successfully issues an order, subtract 1 from your available pool of CP. A unit can only receive 1 Order per phase. Models with 'Sergeant' in their name may also issue orders but may only issue orders to the unit that they are part of. Each order specifies when and how it is to be used.

Move! Move! Move!

(Movement Phase)

Issue this order to one Imperial Guard Infantry unit when it declares it will make an Advance Move. The unit automatically adds 6" to its Movement (M) characteristic instead of its Initiative (I) characteristic.

Fix Bayonet!

(Combat Phase)

Issue this order to one Imperial Guard unit in the Combat Phase that has not fought yet this phase. That unit increases its Weapon Skill (WS) characteristic by 1 until the end of the phase.

First Rank Fire! Second Rank Fire!

(Shooting Phase)

Issue this order to one Imperial Guard Infantry unit that has not yet made a shooting attack in your Shooting Phase. All Las Guns, Hot-Shot Las Guns, Autoguns and Shotguns the unit is equipped with become Assault 3 until the end of the phase. A unit that performs this Order cannot perform a Charge in the turn it receives it.

Incoming!

(Charge Phase)

Issue this order to one Imperial Guard unit when it is declared as the target of a charge. That unit may Overwatch even if it has not set to Overwatch. If the unit made a shooting attack in its previous shooting phase, all Overwatch attacks are resolved with the Gets Hot! Special rule.
