A unit with this special rule may issue Orders (see Combat Orders) to itself even if it does not have a Sergeant model.
In addition, when mustering your army, each Veteran Squad in your army must select one of the following Veteran Skills:
- Marksmen: A unit with this Veteran Skill gains the Precision Hits & Rending (6+) special rule on all Las Guns they are equipped with.
- Grenadiers: All models in a unit with this Veteran Skill gains the Krak Grenade wargear and exchanges their Flak Armour for Carapace Armour.
- Sappers: All models in a unit with this Veteran Skill gain the Melta Bomb wargear. The unit gains the Infiltrate and Siege Attacker special rules.
- Survivalists: All models in a unit with this Veteran Skill gain the Move Through Cover, Skirmisher and Feel No Pain (6+) special rules.
