Haywire (X)

A weapon with this special rule always scores a wound or penetrating hit against Vehicles, Automata, Walkers, Knight, Aircraft, Battlesuit, Drones on a roll of X as represented next to the rule.

All other unit types use the weapons base strength instead.

If when comparing the weapons Strength characteristic against the targets Toughness or Armour Value characteristic, the wound roll required is lower than the Haywire roll indicated in the brackets or vice-versa, use the lowest required to Wound or Penetrate roll for determining if the weapon inflicts a wound or Penetrating Hit on the target. Haywire (X) is not considered a triggered effect (see 1.7.4).
