Supply Lines
"As battles drag on, the key driving force in any campaign becomes the supply lines of the opposed forces. In many cases, two armies often sought to disrupt their foes supply lines, hoping to stall out assaults or strangle their enemies under the attrition of warfare. In such battles, raids are often launched behind enemy lines to intercept and disrupt supply routes identified by scout reconnaissance teams. When a war reaches such a stage, reserve forces are often placed on hold in positions to directly counter such an incursion and ensure the supply line remains intact. The reactionary forces battle fiercely over such battlegrounds to ensure a steady war effort against tenacious enemies that often strike suddenly."
Determine which player will be the Attacker and which player will be the Defenders. The Attacker is seeking to disrupt the supply lines of the defender's force and their army has arrived in the area to ensure the supply route is cut off. The Attacker will deploy second. The Defender represents a response force or protection detail assigned to keep such an essential supply route open in order for forces at the front lines to receive constant support and materials. The Defender will deploy first.
